Occupational therapist
Based in the OT Team of the newly formed Access and Assessment, the post holder will be required to carry out OT assessments particularly for moving and handling / major adaptations and complex medical conditions
The work will involve preparing specifications for major adaptations, completing housing needs reports and assessments for non standard specialist equipment
Candidate Profile
Degree in Occupational Therapy
Must be registered with Health Professions Council (HPC)
Minimum of 4-5 years experience of working with older people and people with physical disabilities
The ability to build strong working partnerships
Good interpersonal skills
Decision making and organisational skills
The ability to explain, and encourage and build confidence
The ability to create a rapport with a range of people, especially people with disabilities
Awareness of health & safety issues
Post graduate experience of working in Social services in UK is required plus skills and experience to undertake moving and handling assessments and to prepare performance specifications for major adaptations
